(Conference Report) 9th Global Clinical Trial Advanced and Planning Symposium

On March 11, 2025, the 9th Global Clinical Trial Advanced and Planning Symposium was held online.

This symposium was co-hosted by Osaka University Hospital and National Cancer Center Hospital and supported by Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).

This symposium was held under the thema of "Let's collaborate on international clinical research among Asian countries more accessible" with the aim of deepening collaboration with Asian regions even further and creating the future of healthcare together. Key opinion leaders from Japan and abroad were invited to speak about their efforts in international clinical research.

In part 1, the Director of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) Asia Office gave a talk about activity on PMDA Asia Office.

As regulatory harmonization and appropriate regulatory responses are important issues for the rapid practical application of research results, this session gathered significant attention from the audience.

In part 2, two speakers reported ongoing international clinical research as outcomes obtained from this project.

In part 3, speakers currently dispatched to the USA reported on the status of the Dispatching Clinical Trial Personnels Abroad, which started this fiscal year.

In the last part, there were sharing information on clinical research and management in Asia from Singapore Clinical Research Institute(SCRI), Taiwan Clinical Trial Consortium(TCTC), Asian Clinical Trials Network for Cancers Project(ATLAS)and  ARO Alliance for Southeast & East Asia(ARISE).

The symposium was a great success with many participants.

We would like to make efforts to prepare for the next Global Clinical Trial Advanced and Planning Symposium so that even more people will be interested and participate.
