(Conference Report) Go Global 15! 5th Anniversary of Joint Conference ~ Global Collaboration to fight COVID-19
On Nov. 3 and Nov. 4, 2020, Center for Global Health, Department of Medical Innovation, Osaka University Hospital and Mahidol University Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand, held joint conference online entitled “Go Global!! 15 5th Anniversary of Joint Conference ~ Global Collaboration to fight COVID-19 ~”
The program on Nov. 3 was held as a part of “Joint Congress on Global Health 2020 in Osaka.” It started with the opening remarks by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, Dean, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. Dr. Wiwat Rojanapithayakorn, Executive Director of ASEAN University Network - Health Promotion Network, Mahidol University provided keynote speech. Then speakers from Thailand, France, Indonesia, Korea and Japan gave lectures on the topic of efforts on COVID-19 in each country. We are very pleased that there are many audiences since it was held as a part of Joint Congress on Global Health 2020.
On the second day, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, Dean, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University and Prof. Ken Nakata, Director of the Center for Global Health, Osaka University Hospital provided keynote speeches, respectively. Then, regarding 6 topics; Cohort Study, Genetics, IT / AI using, Education for the public, Diagnostic tools and Research & Development, specialists in each topic gave lectures. In the Q&A session, at the end of each topic, the lecturers answered all the questions clearly which made audiences understand the contents of speeches deeper.
This conference, which has been held once a year, is now the fifth commemorative event. Our counterpart, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University and Osaka University Hospital are strengthening cooperation with each conference. We hope that the global clinical trial development of both parties will be further activated in the future.
It’s our great pleasure that people other than from Thailand and Japan were able to join this online conference. We hope to hold it face to face next year!
